Retro Rewind to feature The Avalons and Ryan Roth and the Comeback Special Band

 

DAYTON, OH (Sept. 29, 2020) – Dayton Mall invites families to celebrate Halloween and Fall at a special social distancing concert event called Retro Rewind, on Oct. 24, starting at 1 p.m.  The concert, which is also a fundraiser for the non-profit organization For Love of Children Dayton (FLOC), will feature rock and roll sensation The Avalons. Voted Best of Dayton in 2018, The Avalons are known for their outstanding harmonies, high energy choreography, audience participation and hilarious fun.  They’ve shared the stage with such well-known artists as The Beach Boys, The Four Tops, The Temptations and more.  

 

“We are so excited to be able to feature The Avalons at our Retro Rewind Concert,” says Dave Duebber, General Manager at Dayton Mall. “They are so talented and so much fun, and definitely a Dayton fan favorite.”

 

Also performing at the event is Ryan Roth and the Comeback Special Band.  Ryan has been entertaining folks all over the country and is an award winning entertainer and Elvis tribute artist.  He brings energy and excitement to the stage with the music of legendary Elvis Presley. 

 

Proceeds from Retro Rewind ticket sales will benefit FLOC. FLOC serves over 6,000 children in the greater Dayton area who are neglected, abused, in foster care or who are in need of community resources. FLOC is a 100% volunteer based agency. 

 

The concert is also a celebration of fall and Halloween, so concert-goers are encouraged to dress up in their best 1950’s garb.  There will be a 1950’s dance contest as well as a costume contest. Jim Bucher, long time local media personality, is the emcee, and sure to keep everyone laughing and having fun. 

 

Food and beverages will be available from a variety of food trucks including Little Boison Asian Cuisine, Southern Sisters, Wink’s Treats and JD’s Twisted Pig. In addition, beer, wine and mixed drinks will be available thanks to Heidelberg Distributing Company. Restrooms and handwashing stations will be available at the event site. Families are encouraged to bring blankets and chairs. No coolers will be permitted.

 

“The concert is a safe way for families to enjoy great entertainment and still be able to safely social distance,” says Dave Duebber, General Manager at Dayton Mall. “It’s hard to find ways to have fun with your family during this cautious time of COVID-19, and we’ve figured out a way for folks to social distance, relax and enjoy the concert.”

Dayton Mall remains focused on providing a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone. In the continued need to address COVID-19, the town center has proactively implemented additions to the Code of Conduct, effective immediately and until further notice.

These additions include the following guidelines:

• Practice social distancing and stay at least 6 feet (2 meters) from other people.
• Covering your mouth and nose with a face cover in accordance with state and local guidelines.
• Adhere to each individual tenant’s COVID-19 policies. 
• Adhere to all federal, state and local regulations, recommendations and mandates regarding COVID-19.

The Code of Conduct is posted at the Center and available online.

Dayton Mall’s already rigorous disinfectant and cleaning practices will also continue many times per day, including periodically disinfecting areas most susceptible to the spread of germs. Alcohol-based hand sanitizer dispensers are located in highly trafficked areas and walkways for public use.
