Local Fire Department to Offer CPR & First Aid Classes

Are you CPR certified? If not, there will be opportunities to be so at an area Miami Valley fire department’s training classes.

Following the injury last week to Buffalo Bills player Damar Hamlin during Monday Night Football, a rise in interest in CPR classes has taken place. Hamlin was resuscitated by medical training staff on the field, which has been credited with saving Hamlin’s life.

Fairborn Fire Department is offering several CPR classes over the course of the year for individuals who need new certifications or recertification. Attendees do not have to be a Fairborn resident to take a CPR or First Aid class. Classes last approximately 3 hours, depending on the class size, which range from 5 to 20 attendees.

If you’d like to become CPR certified, or attend the additional First Aid classes, details can be found on the Fairborn Fire Department’s website. Classes cost $25 and are open to individuals 12 years of age and older.

Other local and regional organizations, including the Red Cross, offer CPR certification classes online for those wanting to learn from the comfort of their own home.
