Penn Station Athlete of the Month for January, 2019 – McKinlee Jo Ruppert
Congratulations to McKinlee Jo Ruppert, the Penn Station Athlete of the Month for January, 2019!
McKinlee attends Dixie High School in New Lebanon and carries a 440 GPA.
McKinlee’s sports participation includes tennis, basketball and softball while she finds time for her extracurricular activities that include the National Honor Society, Renaissance, Project Charlie and Playtime Support.
After high school, McKinlee plans to attend Wright State University and major in early childhood education. “Participating in high school athletics has been a benefit to me by showing me winning isn’t everything but working hard and wanting to win is,” she noted. “I decided to play both basketball and softball because my sister did, and I wanted to be just like her.” McKinlee points out that her sister Lacey is her role model.
Athletic Director Kregg Creamer said “In the nine years I have worked at Dixie High School, I have not seen a student/athlete work any harder at achieving excellence. McKinlee pushes herself daily to be the best student and athlete that she can be!”
McKinlee notes that the Penn Station at 1159 Brown Street in Dayton has her favorite, the chicken teriyaki.
Best wishes from all of us to McKinlee the first Penn Station Athlete of the Month for 2019!
