Valentine’s Day is so romantic… I mean we love getting flowers and candy EVERY SINGLE YEAR right? And I mean going out to dinner and a movie is something we never typically do on any other weekend. (Uh, can you sense our sarcasm here?) Blah, Blah, Blah…. cards. Blah, Blah, Blah… jewelry. Same old boring things year in and year out. Here’s a thought: What if we changed it up and did something different? (Insert gasp here) I know, it’s a tough pill to swallow, but I assure you whether your coupling, going single, friending it up or taking along the family, here are some cool and unique ideas to get you going in a different Vday direction this year. You’re Welcome.
Boonshoft Museum of Discovery– First of all if you’re looking for an AMAZING gift, you can adopt a zoo animal for a whole year! On the cute side you’ve got otters, sloths and Arabian Sand cats up for adoption, but then there’s the really fun side with poisoned dart frogs, porcupines, boa’s and more! Those cover everyone on our list. Plus, they typically have a really cool planetarium show just for Valentine’s Day.
Chocolate & Beer 5k/10k– Personally we would do anything for love, but we won’t do that. (See what we did there, Meatloaf, no?) But for reals though if you like to run for whatever reason, or walk, or drink beer or eat chocolate this could be the ticket.
Centerville-Washington Park District– There are different events for the whole family. Our favorite is the “Intergenerational Series: Valentines Day Party” for grandparents and their grandkids. How cute are those pics of mamaw & papaw with little Ricky & Suzy? Come on! It’s too much cuteness!
Black Heart Canvas Painting– Spend Vday like Morticia & Gomez and paint some black tulips, bleeding heart plants or human bone candles. Whatever your into, we don’t judge.
VDay Pet Portraits– Show the real love of your life what they mean to you. Who else could you put in the trunk for hours and would still be happy to see you when you let them out? We love us some furry friends… get their photos taken at Fur The Luv of Dogs Bakery or Flyers Paw Zone. Plus, you’ll be all set for next years Christmas card.
Other options that are outside the box of dinner and a movie: Ice skating, bowling, a comedy show… so many other options than dinner! We’ve done most of the thinking for you, but there’s always google… just sayin’.
