Check Out These Beginner Swing Dance Classes in Dayton This January

Have you ever wanted to learn the art of swing dancing? Now may be your chance, as January is “beginner’s month” with Dayton’s very own Gem City Swing.

According to their website, Gem City Swing got started in 2015 after the founders were unhappy with the swing dance scene in Dayton. Now, the group offers social dance events, dance instruction, workshops, social activities and more at American Czechoslovakian Club on Valley Street.

If you’ve never tried swing dancing before, don’t fret: this January is your opportunity to get in on the action. Every Tuesday throughout the month, beginners dances will be taking place so you can learn how to grace the dancefloor. From their event page:

If you’ve thought it would be fun to try swing dancing, now’s the time! Come join us every Tuesday in January at 7:00 PM for our beginner series followed by a social dance to practice your new moves. The beginner lesson is an hour long from 7:00 to 8:00, the social dance is from 8:00 to 9:30, and the cover is $5 at the door. No partner or previous experience required.
